Milk paint is a type of paint that is made from natural ingredients, such as milk protein (casein), lime, and pigments. It is a non-toxic, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional oil- or water-based paints. One of the unique characteristics of milk paint is that it can create a chippy, distressed look on surfaces, making it a popular choice for creating vintage or antique-style finishes.
Milk paint can be applied to a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, plaster, and even fabrics. It can be used to create a variety of effects, from a smooth, modern finish to a rough, antiqued look. Additionally, because it is non-toxic and made from natural ingredients, it is safe to use indoors and around children and pets.
TO MAKE MILK PAINT
To make the paint, you simply mix the powder with warm water. How far the paint goes will depend upon your painting technique, how thick/thin you mix the paint, how many coats you do and the contrast between the color your are painting compared to the piece your are painting.
